Damage from Wind or Fallen Tree

High winds can can blow off roof shingles, vinyl or aluminum siding, shutters and many other building products. Trees can be uprooted and fall due to high winds, lightining or from the weight of ice and snow. This area of our website is dedicated to damages caused to properties that are typically covered by most insurance policies so we'll focus on that for now. If you need general information on roofing, siding or any of our other products and services please click on one of the tabs listed above.

The State of Virginia for the most part is a "non-matching" State. What does this mean to you as a property owner?

Examples; High winds blew off several shingles from one side of your roof and there is no longer an exact color match available. You may be only entitled to a "roof patch" or as with many / most insurers the replacement of the one side of your damaged roof slope. The same goes for siding! You have aluminum siding on your home in a color and / or exposure width that is no longer manufactured (which is most often the case). You may only be covered for the side of your home that is damaged.

Many homeowners are shocked to find this out. "You mean we may have to live with two different colors of siding on our home?" or, "The edges of the siding won't align where they meet at the corners of the house?" Yes, this is often the case but there is often times a compromise available that can please all parties involved.

If you have experienced damage to your home due to wind, a fallen tree, impact or any number of acts that could be covered by your policy please call our office for a free consultation or an onsite visit at your property to discuss all potential options available to you. 703-591-2830.
