When it comes to home construction and repair, technology has probably affected the window industry more than any other aspect of the average home. There are thousands of window manufacturers in the United States and abroad, most of whom claim one advantage or another over their competition. The fact is most of these variances are only useful to the person selling the window. There are, however, features available in the better replacement windows that are very important.
Most consumers interested in replacing their windows have heard of features such as "tilt-in sashes, low e & argon gas, solid vinyl", etc. The fact is most all manufacturers of vinyl replacement windows offer these "basic" features as standard in their respective replacement lines. There is so much more to this story and not all of it has to do with "upgrading" in features or spending more for "bells and whistles" you may not need. The real key to buying replacement windows is in finding the features and benefits that match best with your needs.
